  Using PicoBackup
  1. How do I selectively restore some files from a backup ?
You need to select the backup set, then click "Backup File" button on the toolbar. In the "View Backup File" dialog, select the file(s) that you wish to restore, then click the "Restore" button.
  2. How do I restore from an older backup file ?
By default, PicoBackup will always restore from the latest backup file you created. If you want to restore from an older backup file, click the "Config" button on the toolbar. In the "Configuration" dialog box, under the "General" tab, you should uncheck the "Always view/restore from latest backup file" option, then click "OK" button. From now on, when you try to restore a backup file, a dialog box will appear to ask you which backup file to restore from.
  3. How do I view the progress of scheduled backups that are running in the background ?
Right-click the PicoBackup Scheduling Agent icon in your Windows tray area, then select "View Running Backups" from the popup menu.
  4. How do I install a plugin ?
After downloading a plugin, double-click the plugin (.PPE) file to install it.
  5. How can I easily stop PicoBackup from running any scheduled backups ?
Right-click the PicoBackup Scheduling Agent icon in your Windows tray area, then select "Suspend Scheduler" from the popup menu. The tray icon will change to indicate the scheduler has indeed been suspended. Repeat the above step to resume the scheduler.
  6. I configured my backup set to use "No Compression", so why does it still compress my files ?
When you use "No Compression", PicoBackup will store the files in Zip format WITHOUT compression. This eliminates the slow CPU intensive process of compression.
  7. How do I run several backups sequentially in a fixed order ?
Create a new backup set of the type "Group Backup" and add all the backup sets that you wish to run together, then order it. You can then run this Group backup set to run all the backup sets it contains in the order you specified. You can also schedule this Group backup set.
