- Why should I make backups ?

- Can PicoBackup create an image of my hard disk and restore
it ?
No. PicoBackup is not a disk imaging tool. PicoBackup was designed
to perform frequent backups of important data with minimal or
no interruption, and utilizing minimum storage space. Click

- What other plugins can we expect for PicoBackup ?
Plugins for other types of backup will be created based on level
of demand from PicoBackup users.
- Is there a user manual for PicoBackup ?
PicoBackup comes with an extensive help file that provides context
sensitive help as and when you need it. Most dialog boxes comes
with a help button and you can press the F1 key anywhere
in PicoBackup to bring up the help file. We also offer an online
illustrated guide for PicoBackup over
here to quickly get you started.
- Can PicoBackup import Backup Sets created in PicoZip ?
Yes. Instructions on how to do that is available here. Note: PicoZip 4.0 (or newer) can now export backup sets directly to PicoBackup.
- I lost my PicoBackup registration code. How do I request
for a new registration code ?

- How
do I selectively restore some files from a backup ?
You need to select the backup set, then click "Backup
File" button on the toolbar. In the "View Backup
File" dialog, select the file(s) that you wish to restore,
then click the "Restore" button.
- How
do I restore from an older backup file ?
By default, PicoBackup will always restore from the latest backup
file you created. If you want to restore from an older backup
file, click the "Config" button on the toolbar.
In the "Configuration" dialog box, under the
"General" tab, you should uncheck the "Always
view/restore from latest backup file" option, then click
"OK" button. From now on, when you try to restore
a backup file, a dialog box will appear to ask you which backup
file to restore from.
- How
do I view the progress of scheduled backups that are running in
the background ?
Right-click the PicoBackup Scheduling Agent icon in your Windows
tray area, then select "View Running Backups"
from the popup menu.
- How
do I install a plugin ?
After downloading a plugin, double-click the plugin (.PPE) file
to install it.
- How
can I easily stop PicoBackup from running any scheduled backups
?
Right-click
the PicoBackup Scheduling Agent icon in your Windows tray area,
then select "Suspend Scheduler" from the popup
menu. The tray icon will change to indicate the scheduler
has indeed been suspended. Repeat the above step to resume the
scheduler.
- I configured my backup set to use "No Compression", so why does it still compress my files ?
When you use "No Compression", PicoBackup will store the files in Zip format WITHOUT compression. This eliminates the slow CPU intensive process of compression.
- How do I run several backups sequentially in a fixed order ?
Create a new backup set of the type "Group Backup" and add all the backup sets that you wish to run together, then order it. You can then run this Group backup set to run all the backup sets it contains in the order you specified. You can also schedule this Group backup set.
